FH Europe e-Flash : Sep ’17

Sep 23, 2017

The latest e-Flash from FH Europe celebrates what is happening around Europe to mark international FH Awareness Day on 24 September.

A key element for many member organisations is helping to ‘find FH’ by means of organising cholesterol testing in shopping centres and other business locations and raising awareness to encourage members of the public to get tested. For those who discover they may have FH, the benefits of early treatment are highly important.

Reflecting the voluntary nature of charitable associations, a number of members organise fundraising events such as runs – in Portugal 10,000 runners of all ages will run beside the Tagus river in the Corrida do Tejo run, whilst further north in Basel, Switzerland teams of runners will complete half-marathon and marathon distances. Media and e-media campaigns prepared by further member organisations ensure that awareness spreads across boundaries.

Our current e-Flash promotes member plans – in the weeks ahead, we will report on the actual events and activities in individual countries.
